Green Jobs Public Hearing next week!

Green Jobs, Green Savings - Public Hearing April 1st

Dear Richard,

If you want to create thousands of good jobs, cut energy bills and build a sustainable and prosperous economy for this and future generations of Mainers, this is your chance.

The Green Jobs, Green Savings bill (LD 1181) is a bold 10-year economic development plan that will create thousands of good jobs, develop a $300 million market for efficiency businesses, cut energy bills for homeowners and businesses, and make us a model for the nation in reducing our carbon footprint.

A few updates...

  1. Next Wednesday, April 1, is the public hearing for the Green Jobs, Green Savings bill (LD 1181). Let us know if you can come and we'll fill you in on the details.
  2. A majority of legislators in both the House and the Senate have signed on as cosponsors to the Green Jobs, Green Savings bill.
  3. The press is taking off! Check out an editorial in the Bangor Daily News, a column in the Portsmouth Herald, another column in the Portland Daily Sun and our article in the Maine Policy Review.

We need to build a strong, sustained momentum leading up to our public hearing next week.

Three things you can do to help:

1. Send a message to the state house: Sign our online petition and send an email to your legislator - Click here for one-stop advocacy!

2. Facebook help: Invite your friends to the New Energy Jobs Alliance Facebook group and help get us over 1,000 people (we're at 800 now) before the hearing!  PLEASE change your Facebook status on April 1st to read "Please Support Opportunity Maine's Green Jobs, Green Savings bill today!"

3. Donate today!  Inside the statehouse and in communities around the state, we need to keep educating, organizing and mobilizing for Green Jobs and Green Savings! Pitch in here!

With your help, we can pass the boldest, smartest energy policy in the country. We need you now more than ever!
